As many of our alumni will be aware deconstruction work will soon commence at 125 Grey Street, the former St George’s School site. Once this work is completed, all named bricks will be carefully retrieved, transported, and returned to St George’s School on Liverpool Street.
As we look ahead to our 2027 Centenary celebrations, the School will be repurposing these named bricks into a newly designed pillared gate and commemorative avenue. This project will ensure that our alumni continue to have a visible and meaningful place at St George’s, reinforcing their sense of belonging each time they return to their School.
In the coming weeks we will be releasing details of our Centenary programme, enabling alumni to view and register for the range of special events planned throughout 2027. Among these will be the official opening of the new gate and avenue featuring the named bricks.
Alumni who have a named brick and have any questions are warmly invited to contact Julie Fahey, Headmaster@stgeorges.school.nz
